GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the design, analysis, manufacturing and testing of electrical products.
2. Develop projects requiring the application of engineering and business principles.
3. Provide technical and administrative supervision for a team of engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering required, MSEE preferred
10-15 years' experience in Advanced Technology and Engineering; precision, automated optical equipment environment (motion control, microscopy, metrology, lithography, etc.).
Strong understanding of Analog and Digital Design, Power, CCDs/Imaging devices, Embedded Processors, Image Processing, FPAs, CCDs, Motion Control.
Individual contributor with leadership skills
Proven leadership experience (approximately 2-4 direct reports with down-line responsibility for 6 people who are technicians, machinists, etc.)
Hands-on, participatory, leadership style -- more like a team Captain or Player/Coach than a hands-off Manager. (fairly extensive machine shop on-site)
Strong project management skills
Strong communications, interpersonal and people influence skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform conceptual formulation studies and modifications/improvements directed at identifying new and/or existing systems, equipment or components
Work contractually required engineering tasks, requiring highly technical and scientific analysis. Participate in technical interchange meetings with customers.
Represent the company's technical position and provide electrical engineering expertise when dealing with private and government business sectors.
Manage proposal efforts related to the engineering specialty for submission to government agencies and private industry; prepare associated input. Assist in business development activities, making presentations and providing technical support in the negotiation process.
Assist and advise management in the day-to-day and long-term planning required to meet corporate goals and objectives.
Supervise engineering and technical staff working on contractual, B-and-amp;P and R-and-amp;D tasks. Evaluate individual performance; provide training and career growth opportunities for qualified staff. Analyze staffing needs; make recommendations to obtain necessary resources to meet current and proposed workloads.
