How Personal Training Works
Personal Training is one-to-one instruction that incorporates goal setting and health education into challenging training sessions specially designed for each individual’s needs. A personal trainer is there to instruct you on proper lifting technique on a variety of exercises and at the same time motivate you to achieve your fitness goals.

Fitness Assessments
Want to know how far you’ve come? First, you need to know where you are starting. This program assesses your current fitness level and identifies training needs during and after your goals are achieved. The assessment evaluates cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, and muscular endurance. Do not eat, work out, or drink immediately before your appointment, and know that certain medications can alter results. Fitness CenterOrientation
Get started on a safe and effective workout program or change up or add to your current workout program. Learn safe operation of all fitness equipment while learning proper strength training and cardiovascular exercise techniques. The orientation includes assessment of your goals and needs, body measurements, BMI, flexibility, and cardiovascular strength.
What is the Personal Training Program
The overall goal of this program is to assist participants in achieving physical fitness benefits effectively. To achieve this goal, the following objectives are set. A trainer will work with you to:
1. Set clear and realistic physical fitness goals, using the guidelines set by the American Collegeof Sports Medicine and the American Heart Association.
Objectives include:
• How fitness goals will be achieved
• Amount of work needed to reach goals
• Types of activities desired to reach goals
• Frequency and intensity of workouts
2. Recommend and instruct on proper exercise techniques. Objectives include:
• Teach safe and effective use of equipment to avoid injury
• Teach proper body mechanics
• Teach and provide exercises that suit fitness needs
3. Individualize a physical fitness workout program.
Objectives include:
• Incorporate the components of total fitness including muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning,
• Guide fitness workouts.
• Monitor progress and adjust workouts accordingly.
• Provide accountability and motivation in achieving fitness goal.
Types of Personal Training
Fitting in fitness/ Circuit/interval training:
Short on time and looking for a quick workout that will get you results? If you want a personalized in home workout that will be both challenging and time efficient, a trainer can show you how to fit it all into your busy schedule.
Functional training:
You want to improve your overall fitness level and be able to perform daily tasks with ease. Functional Training will incorporate dynamic movements to help make climbing stairs, carrying a backpack and lifting objects a breeze!
Balance and core training:
Our trainers can provide programs to improve posture, coordination and decrease risk of injury by focusing on balance and training the abdominal and lower back muscles.
Lifestyle activity:
Do you want to learn to incorporate fitness into your lifestyle to make it a life long habit? A trainer can show you how to fit activity into your daily routines to make you a healthy life long exerciser.
Body Composition Assessments
Would you like to track your body mass index or are you simply curious of your body measurements.

It’s a multi-week program designed to ease you into a fitness program and help you build the commitment to keeping fit. Step-by-step your Wellness coach will help you learn how combine the cardiovascular exercises with strength training. Your coach will stay in touch with you during the entire program and help you stay motivated. You’ll take away tips and techniques to help you make fitness a lifelong habit.
