About Michael:

Hi, I'm new to Tucson and a recent graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill. Though I'm trained as an urban planner, I have over five years of teaching experience, mostly as an ESL teacher and tutor. I lived abroad in Chile for a year, where I taught English to university students, and I speak Spanish fluently, even if it's with a crazy Chilean accent. That said, I can still help fellow gringos with Spanish speaking, reading, and writing.

I also specialize in English essay writing, editing, and proofreading. And If you need help with geography, I'm a huge geog-nerd (can draw maps on etch-a-sketches, and grill you on countries, capitals, etc., as well as the more theoretical side of things).

My teaching style is to keep students involved--I ask questions, stimulate discussions, and check for recall. I also like to connect subject material to current events, pop culture, and other topics of interest to the student.
